Jones Myers steps up commitment to Alzheimer’s Society with Memory Walk

Jones Myers partners and lawyers were among hundreds of committed fundraisers who flocked to Harrogate’s Valley Gardens to help boost vital research to find a cure for dementia.

The Memory Walk was among a series of national events, which unite walkers in a common goal to raise over £9 million to help Alzheimer’s Society continue its vital work in dementia care, cause, cure and prevention.

Putting their best foot forward were Jones Myers founder, Peter Jones, partners Kate Banerjee, Sarah Dickinson and Andrew Fox and team members Jaynie Batty, Gill Perry Lisa Stephenson and Emma Weatherill. They were accompanied by family, friends and dogs – all of whom enjoyed the buzz.

Recalls Lisa: “The Memory Walk was a great success and a real family affair with babies being pushed round in prams. The sun came out for a while and after our 1.8-mile walk, we enjoyed tea and cakes in our new offices at Windsor House.

“We’ve also been holding cake sales and dress down Fridays in the office to continue to secure as much as we can for this fantastic charity.”

Hannah Riley, Alzheimer’s Society Community Fundraiser for North Yorkshire, says: “We are extremely grateful to the team from Jones Myers for taking part in Harrogate Memory Walk 2017. This is the third year this fantastic event has been held and supported by our local MP, Andrew Jones, raising vital funds and awareness for people affected by dementia.”

Donations for the Memory Walk can still be made online through JustGiving https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/hgtmemorywalk2017 You can also send a cheque payable to ‘Alzheimer’s Society’ to Andrew Jones MP, Memory Walk, 57 East Parade, Harrogate, HG1 5LQ including your name and address.
