Our expertise, empathy and ethos of consistently going the extra mile has been acknowledged in this year’s Chambers UK Legal Guide in which Jones Myers retains its top spot in Band 1.

Previously described by the prestigious authority as “utterly brilliant”, this year’s guide states that Jones Myers stands out ‘for its strong collaborative law practice and ability to draw on a range of expertise from children and abduction to financial provision and arbitration.’

Clients describe us in the following terms:

“They are wonderful. I have professional excellence to depend upon and their empathy and support is invaluable.”

“They are very helpful, readily contactable and always responsive.”

The Guide also highly praises Jones Myers individual partners. Highly experienced in the financial aspects of complex divorce proceedings and a qualified arbitrator, founder and partner Peter Jones is described by one source as being a “polished” lawyer with incisive “powers of analysis and debate.”

Richard Peaker, a specialist in complex financial provision cases with recent experience in high-value prenuptial agreements and farming matters is described as one of the “go-to lawyers in terms of matrimonial finance in Leeds” and is collaboratively trained.

Kate Banerjee, who heads our Children’s Department and has a focus on international child abduction cases is also singled out. One source says that she is “exceptionally good at client care” and “goes the extra mile for clients.” Another impressed client comments that Kate is “incredibly empathetic and understanding, but she also gives me a reality check and is rational at the same time.”

Martin Holdsworth who leads the private client team and specialises in contentious trust and probate claims including disputes surrounding the validity of wills, management of trusts and accusations of undue influence retained a notable practitioner reference In Band 3 of the Private Client Section in Yorkshire.

Our consultant Norman Taylor, a specialist in divorce and separation and financial disputes, remains a leading light in collaborative family law.

The accolades follow Chambers listing 50 per cent of our solicitors as ‘leaders in their field’ earlier this year. The recognition comes in a formative period for our firm which has recently further strengthened our team with the promotion of Sarah Dickinson from senior associate to partner, and relocated its Leeds offices to St Paul’s Street to accommodate further growth.
