Most people are aware before they marry that there is a possibility that their relationship may break down. Many couples are keen to minimise the potential distress and expense which is often associated with resolving financial matters on separation. It is increasingly popular for couples to attempt to provide for how finances will be dealt with in agreements signed prior to the wedding. These are commonly referred to as “pre-nuptial agreements” or “pre-nups”.
