Jones Myers ‘exemplary professional standards’ have been lauded in the latest Chambers UK legal guide where the firm has again retained its joint top tier ranking.

The 2020 edition outlines how the firm’s highly experienced lawyers include a number of collaborative experts, an in-house barrister and a former deputy judge.

Covering Leeds, Bradford and surrounding areas, the guide says the practice’s extensive expertise extends to complicated children cases, financial remedy nuptial cases, shareholding issues, property portfolios and complex pension schemes.

Clients praise the “exemplary professional standards, prompt response time, and transparency throughout,” in addition to its “well-balanced approach to all proceedings.”

Notable practitioners are the “phenomenal” Richard Peaker who mostly acts on high net worth cases, with expertise in those involving trust or corporate structures. Sources confirm: “He is measured, experienced and capable of dealing with cases with a high level of complexity. He is excellent.”

Founder Peter Jones – who acts for high net worth clients and provides advice on complex business valuation and shareholding issues – is described as “very well known and respected”.

Kate Banerjee who heads the Children Team, “… is very much the leading child law expert in Leeds,” report interviewees, who further praise her “fantastic manner with clients.”

Nicki Mitchell who handles financial remedy proceedings, cohabitation agreements and private law child cases is respected as “a thoughtful, careful and measured family lawyer with good client care skills” who “manages to communicate in a way that everyone understands.”

Also applauded is the approach of Collaborative family law expert Norman Taylor who “..has a very calm nature and the ability to handle sensitive and difficult subjects with kindness and empathy.”

The Chambers ranking comes just two weeks after Jones Myers also retained its joint top tier position in the Legal 500 UK guide.

Said Peter Jones: “To remain joint number 1 in both Chambers and Legal 500 for over two decades reflects the firm’s long-standing reputation for excellence and its exceptional lawyers.”
